Devastating Attic Fire

Attic fires are very hard to detect. They are usually caused by faulty electrical lines in the attic. They deteriorate over time as well as become gnawed on by animals.

Whatever the reason the resulting smoke damage is very noticeable within the home. The smoke cannot always find a way out and will come through the home causing a smell to linger with will need just as much attention as the fire damaged building materials.

Once the beams were restored the area needed to be thermal fogged to get rid of the smoke smell in all the insulation. The next step was the deodorization of the home and ventilation system. Even though there was not too much actual structural damage, it was the smoke damage that was the worst.
